Wyoming Wind Power

While Wyoming’s upcoming large-scale wind farm projects have been getting much attention lately, many Wyoming ranchers and farmers are also “looking into the wind” for a solution to their rising electric costs.  Advanced Energy Technology, of Cody, Wyoming, was able to help Carbon County resident Michael Kananen, who had seen a nearly 50% increase in his Beartooth Electric Co-Op rates, by installing a vertical axis wind turbine on his ranch.  Read the Full Story.

Crawfish Boil

Yesterday was the 26th annual Crawfish Boil hosted at Cam-Plex Wyoming Center. It was hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. There were thousands of people who showed up for a feast. About 13,000 lbs. of crawfished are shipped in for this event! There was also hot dogs, bratwurst, potatoes, sweet corn & onions on the menu. Not to mention a whole lot of beer…

Chavez book pick rockets up bestseller lists

PORT OF SPAIN (AFP) – A book accusing the United States of being a neo-colonial bully in the Americas has rocketed up the sales charts, after a copy was given as a gift by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to US leader Barack Obama.

The book, “The Open Veins of Latin America” was given by Chavez, a longtime US critic, to Obama Saturday at an Americas summit in Trinidad and Tobago.
