Things to do in Gillette

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

There is absolutely nothing to do in this little town besides getting drunk and huffing duster.  Dam !!!  There is nothing for people with out kids to do.  No entertainment at all. Kenny Rogers?  Shot me in the face, come on we are getting taxed for a new event center and all thay can get is the old and decreaped Rogers.  No wonder everyone gets drunk and beats there wives.

Coal industry: Bring on greenhouse regs, slowly

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Last-minute jousts in the presidential campaign may have caused some coal miners in Wyoming and across the country to wonder if their jobs are in jeopardy now that Barack Obama is the nation’s president-elect.

“No, I don’t think the coal industry in Wyoming, and the utilities that rely on it, are going to be shutting down coal-fired power plants,” said Marion Loomis, executive director of the Wyoming Mining Association.

Did You Say Responsibility?

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Whether or not you support America’s recent decision in the political race, it is still the responsibility of American citizens to take interest in government issues. Regardless of which end of the continuum you find yourself there are issues every day that you should be concerned about. It is the responsibility of all American’s to uphold their civic responsibilities more than just the few times in your lifetime in which you may vote.

Perhaps you find yourself overjoyed at the election of Mr. Obama.  Perhaps you feel that Obama’s election will prompt the end of the American civilization, either way, you still have the responsibility to be mindful of the issues on the table that can and will change American lives in the future.

Keep in mind you have a voice, email your Senators and Congressmen and make your voice heard.  Stand up for what you believe is right, regardless of personal political choice. Remember not only will those decisions affect you, but you are creating the world in which your children will live. Go ahead, stand back and watch the world go by, or stand up and fight for what you believe in.  Sometimes it is the smallest voice that makes the biggest difference.

Americans may never be able to see eye to eye, but perhaps that is for the best. Sometimes a little bit of friction causes enough heat to prompt a response.
