Something to do in Gillette

Hi.  If you are looking for something to do in Gillette that is free, I run an open mic night every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month (7pm) at Brother’s Coffee in downtown Gillette.  It’s smoke free, great food, inexpensive wine and beer, and the sound system is great (Bose).  If you play an instrument, read poetry, tell jokes, sing, or dance… you are welcome on our stage.  We have a great crowd; family vibe, feel free to bring your kids, they run around like pack animals there.

If you live in Gillette or near Gillette you should check out the Gillette Speedway. They put on a great show every Saturday night. The World of Outlaws racing series is going to be there this summer for two shoes. http://www.gillettespeedway.com.

If you like to shop in the Camel Plaza there is a Men’s and Women’s clothing Boutique with a little something for everyone! From perfumes and colonges to denim to fit every body type. Must say this is a fun store!

Main Elements is open from 10-6:30 daily and then 10-3 on Saturdays. They are right in the Plaza next to McDonalds and across from Starbucks.

I am from Brazil. I am going to Gillette next December, and I am probably staying until the end of March, 2009. I would really like to know about things to do in the city or around it. I enjoy both inside or outside activities.

I have an interesting idea for a performance. Don’t know when I would be able to make it as I live in newcastle and would have to get a ride.

Just would need to know how much time I would have to really get the idea. It would be a mix of comedy and horrible music. I’d also need to know other rules. As it seems that kids are allowed in, I would probably want to tone down on any foul language. Of course I don’t know the setting that well. the whole idea for the act just basically popped in my head.
